Jones Family Christmas Picture 2007

Here it is... to be sent out really soon!!

There's no place like it!

Last week, I had the opportunity to go to New York with Dana and Summer. We had a great time and braved the near freezing temperatures. We saw a little snow, lots of beautiful Christmas decorations, the store windows, had delicious food and enjoyed two wonderful shows. It was a great time of the year to be in New York and see the tree in Rockefeller Center and of course to shop. We had so much fun! Thanks Dana!!

Elmo and Me... I had to get a picture of me with Elmo for Hunter

What we've been up to...

As Christmas and Hunter's 2nd birthday are approaching, we have been so busy! We were excited a couple of weeks ago when President Bush came to town. Hunter and I went with Babs and Sha Sha and all of their neighbors to see the procession of cars coming up the street. Hunter was given a poster by one of the girls and he loved holding it. He even got to sit on a police motorcycle. How fun!!

Hunter and I had the opportunity to see Sesame Street Live a couple of weeks ago when they were in town. It was "Elmo's Music Show" so of course he loved it. It was our first "performance" to go to and he did great.

We spent Thanksgiving in Waco with family and he had a blast with his cousins. He had a permanent smile on his face just trying to keep up with all of the fun things that they do. They all had fun drinking hot chocolate on Thanksgiving morning.

Later that weekend at the lake, Hunter had his first smore! Yum!!

Backtracking a bit... back in Waco... This is Hunter's new residence- in the laundry room fridge!

Pics in the Pumpkin Patch

Our attempt for some cute pictures in the Pumpkin Patch up at the church turned into more pictures of the back of Hunter's head for our picture album. As much as I love the back of his little head, I was looking forward to some precious pictures of his face smiling so big in the midst of the perfect fall pumpkin patch. They did turn out pretty cute though- even though there are no smiles!

Over the border...

Our 5 year anniversary gave us reason to celebrate, so Chris and I ventured out of the country to Mexico. We had a great time. We stayed at a Palace resort and it was beautiful. We had a great time relaxing by the pool, being out at the beach, enjoying the sunshine and a couple of massages in the Spa! We were certainly spoiled while we were away and still mananged to miss Hunter like crazy. It was a comfort knowing he was with our parents for the week. We were so excited to see him when we got back.

5 Years!!

Random Pics

We went to visit Blake in College Station and snapped a cute one of Blake and Hunter after lunch one day! Hunter loves his Uncle Blake.

I threw a baby shower for a close friend and found Hunter in the hostess gift several times that day- just making sure the stroller was up to par!

The much awaited wall- here is a pic of what we decided to do with the big wall in the family room. I am very happy with it!

Only 2 choices... orange or blue

Well I am cracking up as I scroll through the last couple of entries. Hunter looks like he is always wearing the same thing and I guess I repeat a little too often. It's either the orange and brown polo or the smocked safari scene on the blue outfit. I'm going to have to put those things away for awhile and let him wear something else! :)

I Love Lucy... and Mammy too!!

The other night, the "girls" and Hunter got together for dinner over at Mammy's house. We each brought part of the meal and then stayed to watch an "I Love Lucy" movie. It brought back so many fun memories of growing up and going to Mammy's to spend the night with the cousins. We would always be so excited when she had gotten a new video in the mail. It meant lots of laughs on a pallet on the floor and eating piping hot bread pudding straight from the oven while we watched Lucy and her crazy antics. We had a great time getting together!

It's a Hard Knock Life...

Hunter had a rough day at the church on Tuesday. I had taken him with me to my Bible Study and had him in the childcare room. Well, he was having none of it and proceeded to cry so hard that they had to close the door to the room. Each time we peeked in he was with another lady. After awhile, I couldn't hear him any more. Sweet Aunt Nancy teaches at the church and was just around the corner. She finally came in and asked if she could take him to her classroom. I figured that was better than leaving him in there. She told me later that when she went in to get him, he was dragging his little backpack around the room still crying. Poor baby. Once in her classroom, this is what happened...

A Weekend at the Ranch

We had a blast this weekend at some dear friends' ranch. Hunter got to "drive" Daddy's truck on the dirt roads. Wow, was that fun! He loved being with his friends Kate and Corbin and even snuck in a kiss for Kate. We loved just relaxing with friends and enjoying each others company.

Oops! I'm not watching where I'm going!

Coming in for the kiss!

This one's for Blake...

The Sweet Life

Hunter had the royal treatment this weekend in Waco. Once he realized that there was delicious chocolate icebox pie he would drag anyone who would listen to the utility room refridgerator and say, "Poon." (Spoon) He loved it and would dip that spoon into the pie and take a huge bite. Yum!

Busy Days...

This picture is too cute of Hunter waiting for the train to arrive. He thinks it's the greatest thing to ride the choo-choo train.

Does he look relaxed or what?

Where does the time go?

Hunter at 8 1/2 months last year. It's so hard to believe that he is quickly approaching 2 years old. It seems like yesterday that we snapped this picture of him. When I compare it with his recent pics I realize that he really has lost that baby look. With change and time come fun things!

It's FALL in the Jones House

The FALL..... It was bound to happen at some point seeing as Hunter is such a climber. Last night, for the first time ever, Hunter crawled out of the crib and landed with a thud on the floor. His first fall out of the crib! Chris and I flew into his room to find him sprawled out on the floor. He wasn't hurt thank goodness but was definitely scared. I don't blame him. After talking with friends, I guess our options are to see if this becomes a regular event, get a crib tent if it does, or move him to a toddler or big boy bed. I guess we'll see if he wants to attempt that again or not.

We decided to put on a "fall" shirt today for playgroup. He looks so grown up in a polo shirt and khaki shorts. He will pat his shirt and say "Da Da." I guess he thinks he looks like his daddy in his grown up shirt!

Never a dull moment...

We did a trial run with a Halloween costume option. Hunter was so excited to be "Melmo" (Elmo) and had a blast running around the house in his bright red get-up. On a side note, and on a table to be exact, this is where I found Hunter one morning. He decided that the wooden bowl on the sofa table was the perfect place to perch for the moment. It was too funny not to capture on camera.

Hot, Sweaty and Tired

It's a Monday for sure~
After a fun excursion to the zoo this morning, I noticed the house was really quiet. I looked over the edge of the couch and this is what I saw... a very tired, worn out little boy. My mom always said to keep boys "hot, sweaty and tired to keep em out of trouble." Well, this is pure testimony to that statement for sure!

Can you say mischief?

Hunter has apparently inherited my dislike for snakes... as you can see, he seems completely terrified and disgusted with the ones that are only a mere few centimeters away in the display. Yikes!! He did turn around every once and awhile to please his mom and say, "Ew." Makes me proud! Let me say here and now that we will NEVER have a snake in our house, ever!

On another note of mischief... Hunter got into my makeup and more specifically into my foundation the other day. It was a good ol mess!

Friends...big and small

Hunter had a blast the other night with his girlfriend Kate whom he affectionately calls "Tate." He even said "Bye Bye Tate" and blew her a kiss when they were leaving.

He also had a great time at the SA Zoo the other day when we were able to watch the elephants in action.
